After Ukraine wins, I’ll allow myself to do the things that are unaffordable luxuries during the war: I’ll go on vacation and do nothing for a few days, I’ll read books that tell stories instead of those that teach crisis management and anti-fragility.
I imagine a few quiet days of solitude and rest, just me, my books, and a mug of coffee 🙂
The Ukraine that I envision after the war is a strong independent country, ready for rebuilding itself and embracing amazing economic growth! It should also be a country with zero tolerance for corruption.
When people ask me what dreams I want to realize after we win, I answer that, paradoxically, I haven’t missed a beat in my professional goals. The only exception is my dream of building an innovative ‘school of the future’. Four storeys of the building are already completed and a year after our victory I really hope I’ll be able to open its doors to the first students. It’s a really important project.
What brings Ukrainians closer to victory? It’s our unity, the fact that every Ukrainian does their part, no matter how big or small. As long as we volunteer or donate every day, we’re unbeatable. This is a war that’s fought by the whole nation, for our freedom and dignity.
In terms of what I’d like to happen in the country at large: I know that the demographic situation is going to be difficult after the war. So, I’d like to see the government invest into a great network of kindergartens, as it’s one of the best tools to support population growth.
I want to see Ukraine develop its IT sector, its defense industry, its agriculture, its medicine and all its creative industries (design, fashion, clothing, and advertising). As long as we remember that a strong education system is the foundation of any good economy.
